RECIPE: Turmeric Paste
Turmeric Paste
Turmeric is one of the most used spices in Ayurvedic cuisine and medicine. Its healing properties are endless -

- Anti-carcinogenic
- Liver detoxifier
- Regulates metabolism
- Beneficial for skin conditions
- Promotes healthy cholesterol levels
- Improves brain function and reduces risk of brain disease
This is a recipe for a paste you can use for cooking, or as a dip, or to spread over your favourite breakfast toast...or even to make the famous Golden Milk and enjoy it before bed!
Ingredients:
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp ginger powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp of cardamom
1/4 tsp pink salt
½ cup turmeric powder
1 and 1/2 cups filtered water, plus 1/2 cup more
½ cup coconut oil
Optional:
1/4 cup raw honey or 20 drops of stevia
Method:
Pour 1 and 1/2 cups of water into a medium pan, add 1/2 cup of turmeric powder and bring to a gentle simmer.
Add the other 1/2 cup of water plus the rest of the spices and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Turn off the heat and add the coconut oil, stirring until well combined.
Pour the hot paste into a glass jar and let it cool.
